I have a OLd vintage Chanel bag, Im thinking like 30/40 years old, but no serial #, do all bags have serial #s

What are the distinguishing marks for a chanel vintage bag that old? I am pretty certain it is real, because I received it from a wealthy family member. I want to sell it on ebay, but first I am making sure it is still good. I have no serial numbers on the bag (That I can see), and it is a suede with lambskin interior, with a gold chanel tag and a gold tassel with the chanel logo on it. Does that sound real?

I don’t know when they started putting serial numbers in things…but I bought a Gucci bag in the early eighties myself from Nordstrom’s that I know is genuine and it has no serial number…but it was before the market was swamped with all the fake bags…the serial numbers may have been put in as a response to all the counterfeit ones on the market.
